Ghouls Gambol

Ghouls Gambol is October 27. Registration opens at 9 am in the northeast corner of Lowe's parking lot. $20 per car ($25 for nonmembers). Prizes for costumed participants and decorated cars.

You need a street legal vehicle with driver and navigator. You'll be driving country roads, so bring a suitable vehicle with plenty of fuel and a spare tire. Sign up and get your car number. Review the route instructions and hang out with rally veterans until the informational meeting at 9:45 am. Listen carefully! Then leave the parking lot at 10 am plus your car number and follow the route instructions to the end. Expect to arrive at the ending location restaurant in about 3 hours.

The route explores Washington County’s farmland and autumn colors. The rally includes a stop at Lakeview Farms – take the train through Halloween tunnels, beware what lurks beneath the surface when riding the sternwheeler over the lake, explore the hay maze, pick up a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, and visit the fall harvest gift shop. Lots to do and see at Lakeview Farms. But keep track of the time – you’re on a road rally!

Trophies will also be awarded for the 2018 Saturday Rally Series.

October 27, 2018, marks the 52nd anniversary of Ghouls Gambol, Cascade Sports Car Club’s Halloween road rally. Registration opens at 9 a.m. at Milwaukie Lowe’s, with first car out at 10:01 a.m. $20 per car for CSCC members ($25 for nonmembers). Farm costs not included in entry fee. Rally ends mid-afternoon at the Rogue Brew Pub in North Plains.

For over 50 years ghosts, goblins, spooks, spirits, the dead, the undead, and even the mostly dead have returned to haunt the Ghouls Gambol road rally. In years past rally teams have had to navigate through cemeteries to find hidden clues, reach into a screaming victim's chest, or worse. There have been haunted locations - like the legendary barn on Pumpkin Ridge or the slaughter house. The slaughter house... they say if you listen on a cold, crisp October night you can still hear the screams.

This year the Ghouls Gambol rally explores Washington County’s farmland and autumn colors. The rally includes a stop at Lakeview Farms. Take the train through Halloween tunnels, see what lurks beneath the surface when riding the sternwheeler over the lake, explore the hay maze, pick up a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, and visit the fall harvest gift shop. Lots to do and see at Lakeview Farms. But keep track of the time – you’re still on a road rally!

Speeds are reasonable; a rally is not a race. The rally includes both tricks and treats - standard CSCC road rally rules apply. And yes, the event is suitable for beginners, er, victims.

Prizes for first through third: Unlimited, SOP and Nervous. Also prizes for best costumes and best decorated vehicles.
