Cascade History – 1959 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa on display at World of Speed in Wilsonville
The World of Speed museum in Wilsonville is displaying a very rare Ferrari until March 31. The 1959 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa is known world-wide as TR59 #0768. They have the car because it was driven by 2018 NW Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee Pete Lovely. Pete raced the car in 1960 and then was able to buy it in 1968. He had the car restored in 1990 and it won at Pebble Beach Concours as well as the Monterey Historic races.
This was also the car driven by World Champion Phil Hill in 1959 winning the LA Times Grand Prix . It then was sold to Dick Hahn from Yakima in 1962 and his driver Jerry Grant drove this car to the overall win at the 1962 Portland Rose Cup race organized by Cascade Sports Car Club. There were only 34 TR’s built between 1956-1961 and only 5 in 1959.
